What a fantastic week of celebrating reading at Pilton!
Our newly refurbished School Library has been at the heart of the action, with our Scholastic Book Fair giving students the opportunity to browse a wonderful selection of books, purchase their next great read and enable to the school to purchase new books to benefit all.
As part of Appledore Book Festival’s Schools Week, we were also delighted to welcome two fantastic authors to work with our students:
Matt Oldfield joined our Year 8 students on Tuesday, sharing his passion for storytelling and inspiring our young readers.
Lisa Williamson visited on Thursday to work with our Year 10 students, offering a wonderful opportunity to explore the world of books and writing.
A huge thank you to both authors for taking the time to visit, and to everyone who helped make these events possible.
As part of the National Year of Reading, we’re proud to be encouraging our students to discover new authors, explore different stories and experience the joy that reading can bring.
We hope this is just the beginning of many more reading adventures in our wonderful new library!
