This year, in partnership with the Laurel Charitable Trust, Pilton Farm has been proud to take part in a project exploring the positive impact that outdoor learning can have on young people.
Seven local schools and more than 30 pupils have participated in fortnightly sessions, developing new skills, confidence, teamwork and a love of the outdoors. Since Christmas, each group has taken ownership of its own allotment space—designing, planting and landscaping their plots from the ground up.
The allotments were judged during the farm's Open Day, and after some fantastic entries from all the schools involved, Holywell Primary School were crowned the winners! An incredible achievement, especially as they were one of the smaller and younger teams taking part. Congratulations to everyone involved!
