This week we have hosted our long-standing German exchange from Friedrichshafen in Southern Germany. 22 pupils were warmly welcomed by Years 9&10 Pilton students and their families. They were very fortunate to see North Devon looking its best in glorious sunshine. Day-trips included a surf lesson at Westward Ho!, walking the coast path from Lynton to Valley of Rocks and a visit to Exeter on the train.
Our German visitors also spent a morning in school with their partners, which provided a great opportunity for cultural exchange; Pilton students were intrigued to discover that German pupils do not wear school uniform!
With firm friendships established, our students are looking forward to returning to Germany for the second part of the exchange in early June.
