The Scholastic Book Fair returns to Pilton - Mon 28 Sept-Fri 2 Oct 2026

16th Sep 2026

We are excited to announce that our Scholastic Book Fair is coming back to Pilton Community College!

2026 is the ‘National Year of Reading’, so from Monday 28 September to Friday 2 October 2026, our School Library will be transformed into a wonderful bookshop, with dozens of books to browse and choose from.

Whether your child is a keen reader, enjoys graphic novels and comics, loves a particular author, or is simply looking for something new to try, we hope there will be something to spark their interest and encourage them to pick up a book and get reading.

When can students visit?

Students will be able to visit the Book Fair in the School Library: -

  • Before school
  • During morning break
  • During lunchtime
  • After school

They will have the opportunity to explore the full range of books available and make a note of any titles they would like to take home.

How does it work?

If your child finds a book (or books!) they would like to buy, they will need to collect a Book Fair Wish List from the Library and bring it home.

As we are operating a cashless Book Fair, we are unable to accept cash payments for books in school.

Parents and carers can use the information and QR code on the Wish List to make payment online for the chosen title(s).

There is one really important step!

Once you have made your online payment, please make sure your child's completed Wish List is returned to the Library BEFORE the end of the Book Fair on Friday 2 October.

This is essential as it allows us to check the payment and then issue the correct book(s) to your child. Scholastic specifically advises that Wish Lists are returned to school before the end of the Fair.

Gift Vouchers

Scholastic Gift Vouchers are also available if you would prefer to use this option. Vouchers can be purchased in advance and sent to you by email, after which they can be printed and sent into school with your child.

Let's get reading!

At Pilton Community College, we want to help every student discover the enjoyment, escapism and excitement that books can offer. Our Book Fair is a great opportunity for students to discover new authors, new stories and perhaps their next favourite book.

We would love to see as many of our students as possible visiting the School Library throughout the week and exploring what is on offer, plus any book sales mean that we, as a school, will also be able to purchase some new titles to continue to re-stock our recently refurbished Library (a full list of the titles and prices, can be found by clicking here).
