Luke's Cyclocross Success

Dec 07, 2022

On Sunday, former Pilton student Luke Mahoney raced in Ipswich in the Special Olympics Cyclocross World Championships. Luke raced for 30 minutes and was competing against riders from the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and the USA. The course consisted of lots of twists and turns on mud and grass, a long sand pit to ride through and boards to jump over while carrying your bike.

Luke rode a brilliant race, finishing 2nd overall and the first Junior. Luke was awarded a rainbow jersey and medal and is the Special Olympics Cyclocross Junior World Champion.
