Thought-provoking talk

Year 8 students enjoyed a thought-provoking talk by Mary-Flowa Houldsworth at Barnstaple Library today. Flowa has been working in Afghanistan as a nurse and midwife with Médecins Sans Frontières since 1980, treating patients injured during the conflict, offering maternal and child healthcare and responding to natural disasters. She talked about her experiences and the stories she heard of those who have been forced to flee their homes and become refugees.
