Die Rheinlandreise war fantastisch

126 Year 8 and 9 students enjoyed their cultural and linguist visit to the Rhineland, Germany at the end of term. A highlight was Marksburg Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site; the best-preserved hilltop castle on the Rhine. Students had a cruise on the Rhine, one of Europe’s major rivers, and learnt about its historical and economic significance. Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Museum in Rüdesheim was a fun way to discover the history of music and early sound recordings. Students used their linguistic skills to order from cafés, go shopping and navigate around a town of Koblenz and Rüdesheim. Evening activities included bowling and swimming, thoroughly welcomed by our students as temperatures soared above 30 degrees, and fun was had by all at the fabulous Phantasialand theme park.
