Hello, my name is Cleo Parsons, and I am a Year 7 pupil at Pilton Community College. I have been asked to tell you a little about myself and what I got up to during lockdown. For the last few months, I have been doing some zoom calls for my gymnastics club, Falcons in Barnstaple. In January I did a zoom call with a GB gymnast called Georgia-May Fenton. She gave me a very big confidence boost as I lost it throughout lockdown due to not being able to keep my skills up within the gym. She gave us a brilliant workout. We did a lot of Flexibility and Conditioning. In February there was a half-term training for the whole week! It was very tiring. There were also a few special guests that I got to meet and they did lots of different gymnastic moves with us. They are Reiss Beckford, Marissa King, Adam Tobin and Danusia Francis. We also had a food and nutrition call which helped me look at what foods help me for training and recovery. These zoom calls have helped me massively throughout lockdown as I found it hard to keep pushing myself and they have helped me to remain focused on gym and my school work. Also, getting out for a run with my old PE teacher from primary school was very beneficial and a great way to get some fresh air and get away from the screen for a bit.
