Coordinated by an ex-Pilton student, Hanna Seymour, the Army Outreach Team from Sandhurst included us in their summer programme recently, allowing Year 10 students one of their first opportunities in a long time to engage live with external visitors and potential employers. Eighty students watched a presentation about the different career opportunities in the British army then participated in some hands-on team-building activities out on the field. These included building mini-tanks, overcoming logistical problems when removing land-mines and breaking codes. It was very rewarding to watch students engage so positively with the tasks and our visitors. Thank you to the Year 10 year team and Mrs Miller who helped make this happen.
