The BTEC First Award in Sport has been designed to build on and embed the physical development and skills learnt in Key Stage 3. It is most suited to those students who may decide to follow a career pathway in PE or sport.

The BTEC First Award in Sport encourages students to take their first steps towards a career in sport and fitness. They learn essential skills such as training for personal fitness, encouraging sports participation, and organising and leading events and activities.

We regard this BTEC as being equivalent to a P.E. GCSE, with a greater emphasis on internal assignments assessed by your P.E. teacher.
